Maryland Profile
Maryland is a state with a long history and many, many exciting sights to see and explore year-round. Both the summers and winters are relatively mild in comparison to most of the other states, and the seasons are very distinguished, from the colored leaves of fall to the bursting spring flowers. Baltimore, particularly it’s newly redesigned and renovated Inner Harbor is one of the hot spots of Maryland where visitors can peer into the past, enjoy the present, and catch a glimpse of the future. The Walters Art Museum not only offers a wide selection of art, but also hosts live music and other cultural events. The Baltimore Museum also contains a wide variety of artifacts and exhibits of its own. At the Maryland Science Center visitors can marvel at ancient fossils from Dinosaur Quest to the latest in technological innovations at Our Place in Space. And children are sure to get their kicks at the Port Discovery Children’s Museum. Not far away you’ll find the National Aquarium in Baltimore, which is home to both marine life and water-loving mammals. And don’t forget the dolphin show, which is sure to make a splash. After a great day discovering and learning about our world, take a stroll to one of the many restaurants and bars that dot the Inner Harbor, and be sure to stop and take some pictures of the restored ships and cannons on the harbor’s edge. If you don’t know what you want for dinner, there’s plenty to choose from. There’s even a Hard Rock Café. Aside from Baltimore’s Inner harbor, Maryland also has some great state parks and gorgeous sandy beaches, including Ocean City, one of its most famous. And if that’s not enough, Washington, DC, the nation’s capital, is just a short drive away.Current Temperature:
